1. How much does Grammofy cost?

    GRAMMOFY is completely free. However, you need a premium Subscription to Spotify to listen to music. Simply connect your Spotify account to GRAMMOFY and you are good to go.

  2. In which languages is Grammofy currently available?

    For now, GRAMMOFY will only be available in English and German.

  3. In which countries is Grammofy currently available?

    GRAMMOFY is available globally but music streaming is limited to the countries in which Spotify currently operates. For a full list of countries have a look here.

  4. What audio quality do you offer?

    All our proprietary recordings come in lossless CD-Audio quality. Music that is accessed via Spotify follows their audio standards.

  5. How do I sign up?

    Signing up for Grammofy is simple. Just click here to sign up via our website.

  6. How do I download music?

    GRAMMOFY does not have an offline modus in and of itself. However, you can create your own list of personal favourites. GRAMMOFY automatically creates a corresponding Playlist in your Spotify account which you can download there for when you are disconnected from the internet.

  7. How do I create my Favourites Collection?

    Adding favourites This couldn't be easier. You can favourite every recording you listen to by clicking the little star icon within the player at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively you will find the little star next to each work in the collections.

    Rearranging favourites
    You can rearrange the playing order of your favourites by simple drag-and drop.

    Deleting favourites
    Swipe the work you wish to delete to the left and click the little x icon.

  8. How do I get more information about the music I am listening to?

    You can always access more detailed information about the work and recording you are listening to via the info modal. To get there simply click the three dots next to each work. The info modal gives you a list of all movements of the work, further information about the piece, as well as a list with all the recordings we hold in our database of this specific work.

  9. Can I compare different recordings of the same piece?

    Yes you can. Just open the info modal of a work by clicking the three dots next to it and select the recording you wish to listen to.

  10. How do I access separate movements via the Player?

    If you are accessing Grammofy via a web browser on a desktop computer or laptop, you will see that the progress bar at the bottom of the screen is split up into sections. Each section represents a movement. Click each section to start playback of that specific movement.

    In case you are accessing Grammofy on mobile devices or via the Grammofy app, simply click the Mini-Player at the bottom of the screen to expand it. The expanded player lists all movements and you can start the playback by clicking them.

  11. How can I share music with friends & family?

    In the player at the bottom of the screen you find the share icon . Click it to share the title you are listening to right now via Facebook, Twitter or email. The share icon also appears next to each work (iOS: on smaller screens you need to swipe the work left to access it and on the info-modal which can be accessed via the three dots

  12. How can I invite Friends to Grammofy?

    This is super easy. Simply send them the link to our website. We are also on Twitter, Facebook and Google+, so you can like, share and recommend us there as well. Help us spread the word by telling your friends, families and acquaintances about us! Share specific titles so they can start listening straight away.

    How can I change my password?
    You need to log in to Grammofy via a web browser, then click account and password. You can change your password there.

    Terms of Service

    These are the terms and conditions on which Grammofy UG (“Grammofy”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides the Grammofy Service to you, the end user (“you”, “your”) so please read them carefully before using our website and services.   1. Our Agreement with you

    By browsing the Grammofy website (‘the Website”), using our software applications, and by signing up to receive our email newsletters and to access our full curated playlists and licensed content via Spotify (together “the Grammofy Service”), you are agreeing to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below (“the Agreement”). If you do not accept and agree to all the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement, please do not register with us nor use or access the Grammofy Service.

  2. The Grammofy Service

    Grammofy provides the Grammofy Service for streaming music files through its third party provider Spotify. To listen to music you need to connect Grammofy with your Spotify subscription, whereby you are granted streaming rights to Grammofy’s curated playlists and archives of music files under the terms of your Spotify Premium subscription. We also provide free access to the introductions to the playlists and short musical extracts from the playlists.

    You must have authorised access to the Internet as well as all equipment necessary to be able to listen to the media files. Please see our FAQS for technical and audio quality information relating to the Grammofy Service, the Grammofy App and the Spotify Service.

    You can also access the Grammofy Service through mobile application software (“the Grammofy App”). When you download the Grammofy App, we grant to you a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Grammofy App under the terms of this Agreement, to which you agree by downloading the Grammofy App, whether through the Website or the Apple App Store. Please be aware in particular of our Privacy Policy and Limitation of Liability. If you download the Grammofy App through an app store, you will also be bound by any rules and policies supplied by that app store provider. If you are downloading the Grammofy App from a device in the USA, please be aware that you must be at least 18 years of age.

    The Grammofy Service is available in the territories where Spotify provides a streaming service. Please see FAQs for more information.

  3. Registration Information

    You can register with us for free by going to the registration page on our Website or by downloading the Grammofy App from the Apple App Store. The registration information that you submit to Grammofy must be true, accurate and complete. You must be over 18 years of age.

    When you submit your registration information to us, we will send you an email confirming receipt. You will then be able to access the full Grammofy Service an receive our email newsletters. You can ask us to stop sending you emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email that we send you, or by sending an email to info@grammofy.com

  4. Copyright

    All copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Grammofy Service (including the Website and the Website Content) are the property of Grammofy, Grammofy’s licensors, and/or Spotify and/or its licensors. For the avoidance of doubt, this refers without limitation to the full term and extensions of all such rights that exist now or in the future in all music, artistic and literary content; in sounds, text, graphics, data, stills, photographs and moving images; as well as in trade marks, designs and community rights whether registered or unregistered.

    We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to make personal, non-commercial use of the Grammofy Service, the Website and the Website Content, and to receive the media content made available through the Grammofy Service and through and on the terms of your Spotify Premium subscription, as they apply in your country. You may not copy, reproduce, record, or make available to the public any part of the Grammofy Service, Website Website Content or Spotify’s content, or otherwise make any use of them, which is not expressly permitted in this Agreement.

    You must not create any links to the Website that frame any of the content on the Website, or imply that Grammofy or Spotify endorses a third party’s products, or contain or link to any material that is illegal or offensive. Grammofy reserves all rights not expressly granted hereunder.

  5. Termination of the Service

    If you wish to terminate you registration for the Website and access to the Grammofy Service at any time, please disconnect your Spotify account and click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email newsletter that you receive from us, or you can contact us at info@grammofy.com

  7. Registration on the Website

    When you register on the Website, you will be asked to provide your name and email address and to create a password to protect your user account, and you are solely responsible for keeping your password confidential and secure. You understand that you are responsible for all use of your username and password on the Website and the Grammofy Service and you may not provide your user name and password to any other person or use any other person’s password or user name. If your username or password is lost or stolen, or if you believe there has been unauthorised access to your account by third parties, please notify us immediately and change your password as soon as possible. You promise that all registration information you provide shall be accurate. You must inform us as soon as possible if it needs updating. It may be necessary for us to refuse some registration applications (eg to prevent fraudulent usage). In some cases we may restrict access by age and/or location of user.   8. Ownership of Website Content

    The Website features a wide range of text, sound recordings, artwork, software, data, and other content of all forms which we and/or third parties provide (together referred to as “Website Content”). The Website Content is protected by copyright, trade mark rights, database rights, and other intellectual property and related rights which are owned by us and/or licensed to us by third parties.     The Grammofy App, Grammofy Service and Website Content are made available to you under a non-exclusive licence to you, and Grammofy retains ownership of all copies of the Grammofy software applications even after installation on your devices. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify or create derivative works based on the Grammofy software applications, or those of our third party providers such as Spotify, nor any part thereof; nor circumvent any technology used by Grammofy, Spotify or any other of our commercial partners, licensors or any third party to protect content accessible through the Grammofy Service.

    Some of the Website Content is only accessible through a Spotify Premium subscription, and separate and additional usage terms will apply in respect of the Spotify Platform, Spotify Services and Spotify Content. Please see the Spotify’s Terms and Conditions of Use Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use for further information.

    You must not make, nor try to make, nor attempt to resell or redistribute any copies or extractions of any Website Content, the Spotify Platform, Spotify Services or Spotify Content except as permitted by our Terms of Use or Spotify’s Terms and Conditions of Use. We reserve the right to prohibit or restrict the way in which other websites link to or frame or represent any of the Website Content.     We will make reasonable efforts to keep the Grammofy Service and Website operational; however, certain technical difficulties, routine site maintenance, emergency maintenance and any other events outside our control may from time to time result in temporary service interruptions. Like all software-based services, the Website cannot be promised to be free from errors or bugs. We will, however, use reasonable care and skill in fixing any problems once we become aware of them.

    Grammofy also reserves the right periodically and at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, functions in the Website or the Grammofy Service with or without notice. You agree that Grammofy shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any of the direct or indirect consequences of any modification, suspension or discontinuance of or interruption to the Website or Grammofy Service if caused by any of the circumstances described in this paragraph.

    We will not be responsible for loss of or damage to your computer hardware or software or other personal property or any other losses which you suffer as a result of accessing the Website unless this is due to our neglect or failure to take reasonable precautions and such losses are reasonably foreseeable. We strongly recommend that you (a) take care to verify the suitability and compatibility of your computer system prior to use; and (b) install appropriate anti-virus and security software on your computer hardware to protect against a computer security threat which may be transferred to your computer hardware through your use of the Grammofy Service and/or the Website.

    As this is a consumer website we shall not in any event be liable for losses related to any business such as lost data, lost profits, or business interruption.

  10. Withdrawal of Website provision

    We may terminate the provision of this Website to you at any time. We shall try to give you prior notice if we do but this may not always be possible. If you are in breach of these Terms, or we have reasonable grounds to believe that you are, we may suspend and/or terminate your access to this Website without prior notice.

  11. Data Protection and Privacy Policy

    Grammofy is committed to protecting your privacy and will use any personal information that we collect about you in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK) and the Federal Data Protection Act 2018 (Germany) as applicable, and all other data protection law in force in the European Union and United Kingdom from time to time.

    Personal data that we collect from you

    When you register for the Grammofy Service, or request the Grammofy Newsletter, we need to collect personal information from you such as your name, email address and password. We use this information to send you regular email newsletters with news about the Grammofy Service, and to facilitate connection of your Grammofy account to your Spotify Premium account.

    If you sign up to use the Grammofy App, will also need to collect technical information about your mobile device (such as unique IMEI number and usage data) in order to provide you with updates and bug fixes to ensure your continued access to the Grammofy App. App stores may make use of location data sent to your mobile device under the terms of their own privacy policies. You may withdraw your consent to their use of your personal data in this way at any time by turning off the applicable location settings.

    We will also collect certain non-personally identifiable information on your usage of the Grammofy Service. This data will be anonymous at point of collection and throughout its processing by us.

    How we process your personal data

    We only process your personal data in order to provide the email newsletters and the Grammofy Service and to ensure the technical functioning of the Grammofy Service.

    We only send you our email newsletters if you have requested Free Access, or as part of the Grammofy Service; if in future we have new types of products or services that we want to tell you about, we will make sure to obtain your express permission first.

    You can always withdraw your permission to receive emails from us whenever you wish by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email that you receive from us or by writing to us at info@grammofy.com.

    We use non-personally identifiable information in order to ensure technical functioning of the Grammofy Service and to analyse how the Grammofy Service is used, so that we can improve the Grammofy Service and develop new products and services; and in order to do this, we will also share non-personally identifiable information with the Spotify Platform [and any other future or potential streaming partners] in order to ensure the quality of the Spotify Service, and for Spotify to enable improvements to the Spotify Service.

    International transfers of personal data

    Generally we make every attempt to ensure that Grammofy only uses servers located in the EU and the UK. It may occasionally be a necessary part of provision of the Grammofy Service to transfer your personal data to countries located outside the European Economic Area and the UK. We will only do this where we have satisfied ourselves that the third party’s data protection policies and systems and technical measures provide a level of privacy and data protection that is adequate to meet the standards in force from time to time under EU and UK law. There may occasionally be circumstances in which we need to ask your express permission before making such transfers, in which case we will write to you requesting consent.

    Please be aware that in certain circumstances it may be necessary to disclose personal data in accordance with applicable law; for example in response to a legal process.

    Third parties

    You are only able to listen to the full Grammofy playlists by connecting, from the Grammofy Website or the Grammofy App, to your subscription with a third party provider, such as Spotify. In order to provide this connectivity, Grammofy will need to make temporary copies (caches) of some of the personal data that you have supplied to that provider. These caches will disappear from our system when you disconnect the provider, therefore we will only have access to your Spotify personal data while you listen to Grammofy.     We will not share your personal data with anyone else for marketing purposes unless we have asked your permission and you have expressly consented to it.

    We only use third party providers who we are satisfied provide a level of privacy and data protection that is adequate to meet the applicable legal standards in place from time to time within the EU and UK.

    Your rights

    We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Grammofy Service to you, and we will delete it once we have no further use for it. Furthermore, you have the following rights at any time to request that Grammofy:

    • provides a copy of the personal data that we hold on you
    • stops contacting you with newsletters or other marketing communications (see How we process your data); or otherwise restricts processing
    • corrects inaccurate or incomplete personal data of yours that we hold
    • permanently erases all personal data of yours that we hold

  14. Other important terms

    How to contact Grammofy: You can contact us by writing to us at info@grammofy.com. If we need to contact you we will do so by telephone or by writing to you at the email address or postal address you provided to us when you registered.

    Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions, together with the Data Protection and Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy and Use of the Service and Website constitute the entire Agreement between Grammofy and you for the Service and the Agreement replaces any previous agreements between us.

    Changes to this Agreement: Grammofy may make changes to the Grammofy Service and to this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you of any material change via the Website, but we do advise you to check these terms and conditions regularly for changes, as your continuing use of the Service will be taken as your acceptance of the changes.

    If you have broken any term of this Agreement and we delay in taking steps against you in respect of the breach, it will not prevent us from taking steps against you at a later date. For example, if you miss a payment but we continue to provide the Service, we can still require you to make the payment at a later date.

    This Agreement is between you and Grammofy only, and no other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.

    If you wish to transfer your rights or your obligations under these terms to another person, you may only do so if we agree to this in writing.

    Grammofy may assign this Agreement or any part of it without restriction.
