Introducing Patricia Kopatchinskaja

feat. Bach, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Vivier, Bartok & Holliger

For this Grammofy Special collection we're thrilled to introduce to you the Moldovan violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja.

British audiences may be interested to know that Kopatchinskaja is an Artist in Residence at London's Wigmore Hall this season. “Touching, mesmerising and slightly mad” is how one major British newspaper has described her, praising her “fierce, questing intelligence” and her virtuosity. And if you look at the music she's regularly performing and recording, you'll see what a very wide range of styles it encompasses, from baroque and classical often played on gut strings, through to new commissions and avant-garde modern masterworks. No surprises then to see that she's chosen a really dazzling array of contrasting musical offerings for Grammofy. So, enjoy! We and she hope that you'll enjoy getting to know her here.
