Introducing German Hornsound

feat. Wagner, Verdi, Mussorgsky, Shostakovich & Prokofiev

Play all

The horn quartet “german hornsound”, formed in 2009 by four former students of Christian Lampert’s Horn Class at Stuttgart’s Conservatoire for Music and Performing Arts,

has really made a name for itself by virtue of its extraordinary profile with debut performances at nearly all the German music festivals in the last two years. The repertoire of the ensemble encompasses several eras of musical history, with original works as well as arrangements. “german hornsound’s” identity is shown particularly through their own projects. Today you will experience excerpts from the quartet’s first two projects: Firstly the three act ‘Opera Fragment’ “Siegfried and Violetta” which was written in 2013 using music from Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi and secondly “Pictures” based on Modest Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition” which was published in 2015.
